Daniel Davey is known for his nutritional expertise.
Yet earlier today, I saw him share a video about the fact that he’s happy, really happy.
And he attributed this happiness, not to his good fortune, healthy family or privileged circumstances. But because of his outlook and disposition which he was taught by his father.
“It doesn’t get any better than this”, his Dad used to say.
And it’s funny, this week I’ve just been exposed to this simple yet powerful message over and over again. I’ve been aware of it.
It has shifted me from being caught up in my own head and feeling sorry for myself at the start of the week, to feeling intense gratitude yesterday and today.
Fallen Angels

Neuroblastoma
Yesterday, as one major coaching programme came to a 2024 close, another kicked off. In one, I heard of a child losing her 10 year long fight with neuroblastoma, may she Rest In Peace. In another, I heard of a young boy who has survived and lives a vibrant life.
Capuchin
As this story highlights, people here in Dublin are struggling to eat, feed their kids or dependents and find shelter this Christmas.
It has just been a week full of really healthy doses of perspective and reality checking.
Your Inner Game (mindset) is yours to own. You get to choose how you see the world.
As we prepare for Christmas, let’s check in with ourselves. What makes it magic is the joy and connection that we feel with our friends and family.
Let’s focus on what we have already, and where we are right now, and who is there with us.
