Think of something that lit you up like a Christmas tree in 2024!
Narrow it down.
Let’s look at work first. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I prompt the following:
- Name your work-related highlights for 2024.
When you have a highlight (or a few), unpack a bit more.
If I suggested that the highlight was an outward expression of some inner growth or change in you, what growth or change would you attribute the highlight to?
Which of your values are reflected in your example?
If you were to double down on the cause of this effect, so you were to leverage your potential in this area to a far greater degree, what could be possible in 2025 and beyond?
How would you feel if this was true? What would it mean to you? What could it mean to those closest to you?
I sometimes observe a reluctance in my clients to reflect upon their performance and/or progress over a quarter, or a year. I sometimes feel it myself.
I can understand the challenge it presents, we have to slow down. We’re programmed and conditioned to keep going, often at full tilt.
Is that wise? Will it yield significant change, or improved results?
I get it, it’s hard at this time of year. We’re tired. We’re looking forward to switching off. We still have results to produce and targets to hit. We move to autopilot.
But if that’s the case, that’s CLEAR EVIDENCE that the current way of working is in need of updating. If that’s how you feel, your current operating system is going to be obsolete sooner than you think.
The world isn’t going to slow down for any of us.
For me, the following are my highlights:
- Immersive Coaching – Nothing cuts through the noise quite like Immersive Coaching, a valuable and effective tool to break the cycles of working harder. This is how we connect with ourselves quickly and effectively to feel more alive and work smarter and with more purpose and conviction. I’ve seen the impact on myself and others, it is profound. We’ve only scratched the surface. Reply to this email if you want to know more.
- Peer Coaching Circles – I’ve been a participant in one on the MIT course with Otto Scharmer that I am studying…game changer. We’re also facilitating this for Partners and leaders in our client companies. Firms are going to want more and more of this, they already badly need it. Working in silos won’t cut the mustard in 2025 and beyond, it’s already outdated. Think about harnessing your company’s collective wisdom (ecosystem) rather than your individual knowledge (egosystem). What could be possible if this was true?
- Partnerships – putting 1 & 2 into play through Partnerships in my own business has lit me up like a Christmas tree. I’m looking forward to piloting an online coaching platform with an established provider in 2025. I’ve begun work with a US peer-practice delivering work for a global Tech giant and have loved every minute. TRIPS Tank has also partnered with a client to deliver coaching services to their clients. Finally, we’ve added a few more A Player coaches to the TRIPS Tank team too.
And here’s the point. I was wrecked last night after being away since Sunday afternoon. I felt some anxiety building about a few things at work.
In writing this note to you, I’ve been forced to answer my own questions, to practice what I preach. As a result, I am brimming with a sense of gratitude, optimism and fulfilment.
I’ve much greater capacity to work smarter now than I did last night.
If you’d like access to a thorough and complete framework for reviewing your year comprehensively, reply to this email.
It will not just be about work. It will be about all areas of life. It is available to those who have worked with TRIPS Tank previously, or who want to engage with us going forward.
It is not for everyone, it is ONLY for those who have the courage to look to themselves for change (individually or as a team).
