Focus on Your Locus of Control

I’m writing this on Monday. We arrived in a quiet coastal spot in Portugal on Saturday morning.

Last week was hectic—client work, travel, life admin. Somewhere in the mix, I got sick. Nothing major, but enough to slow me down and force me to strip it all back to immediate priorities.

This morning, I tidied up a few loose ends and now the laptop is being zipped away for a week. That alone feels like a small win.

Meanwhile, I see headlines spiralling—tensions in the Middle East escalating, the possibility of war between the US and Iran being openly discussed.

It’s unsettling. And it’s easy to get drawn into it. Easy to start worrying about everything outside our control.

But none of that changes what’s here, right now.

Wherever you are this week, whatever you’re doing—keep bringing your mind back to what is within your control. Your mindset. Your presence. The way you show up for yourself and those around you.

Be where your feet are.

Focus on what is, not what if.
